I ordered what was advertised as raspberry leaf tea (Rubus idaeus) for personal consumption. What I received was not raspberry leaf, and after careful examination and expert input, it appears to be a completely different plant — most likely Virginia creeper, which is toxic and not safe for tea or human use.
When I raised the issue, the supplier claimed it was “Palmleaf raspberry” (Rubus chingii), but provided no botanical proof, certificate of analysis, or proper documentation. The leaves I received do not match Rubus chingii either. Their only response was “We export for many years,” and then they cancelled my refund request.
This is a serious health risk, especially for people who trust they are buying genuine medicinal herbs. I do not recommend this supplier if you value transparency, safety, or accurate herbal sourcing.
